Latin Muslim Association creates awareness about the growing Muslim community in Latin America, supporting centres, funding education, and alleviating poverty.

United by faith and a love of Latin culture, we are a global team of volunteers working to spread Islam, build community, and respond to crises across Colombia and beyond.

Support reverts to Islam in Colombia and other Latin American regions by spreading the message of Islam.

Build Islamic centres and mosques with educational facilities across Latin America, starting in Pereira, Colombia.

Create positive links between Muslim and non-Muslim communities, governments, and media to promote greater understanding of Islam.

Provide follow-up support for new Muslims through education, financial aid, and community visits across the region.

Community

Integrating the new and growing Latin Muslim community — blending two beautiful, complementing cultures with warmth and understanding.

Holding talks and discussions that increase awareness and understanding of Islam across Latin America and within diaspora communities in the UK.

A community built on faith & culture

We are a group of Muslims from around the world united in our aim to support brothers and sisters throughout Colombia and other Latin American regions in spreading the message of Islam — based on authentic sources from the Quran and the Sunnah.

It is not our race, colour, or culture that makes any one of us better than the other, but the degree to which we recognise our Creator and adhere to His commands.

Gabriel Dawood Herrera Escobar — Al-Colombi.

It is with great sadness that we remember our dear brother Gabriel David Herrera Escobar (Dawood Al-Colombi), who passed away in September 2015 after months of illness in Pereira, Colombia. Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn.

Brother Dawood was a truly inspirational figure who touched the lives of so many and was instrumental in furthering the cause of Islam throughout Latin America. Those who met him recall his friendliness, warmth, and deep determination.

May Allah (SWT) have mercy on our brother, elevate his rank with the martyrs and the righteous, and grant him the highest station in Jannah. Ameen.
